Sims Garden

Once the beloved garden- for the Sims family, this 4.5 acre-lot on Lookout Mountain had fallen into disrepair and neglect when LMC bought the property in 2022 with a promise: we’ll restore the grounds and gardens.

Once the beloved and historic garden owned by the Sims family, this 4.5 acre-lot on Lookout Mountain had fallen into disrepair and neglect when LMC bought the property in 2022 with a promise: we’ll restore the grounds and gardens.

In 2025, LMC released its Master Plan and began the first of multiple community weed-wrangle events.

The renovated Sims Garden will include a learning garden, small-stage amphitheater, renovated pavilion and bird, butterfly, herb and floral garden.

“This will become a park for all people,” said Carlton. “A park for the people, by the people. We want to honor the Sims family by restoring this property and all its gardens.”

Currently, the park is not open to the public.
